As Climate Ambassadors
CLIMATE DEMOCRACY AND JUSTICE SUMMIT
CORFU & EPIRUS, GREECE
Meet our first Climate Ambassador from the South Pacific, Litia Baleilevuka
Come and learn about international law and governance of the climate (or lack thereof) and how “we the peoples”, alongside the states, can be stakeholders in establishing international and effective good governance of the climate. On the island of Corfu and in the mountains of Epirus, an international panel of experts and educators will present and conduct workshops. Begin your mission now to be part of the solution. Apply to become a Youth Climate Ambassador.
Registration is open for up to 100 climate activists. In addition, from every continent including the sinking islands, around the world, we will fully sponsor the cost of 12 prominent youth climate activists to attend the Summit for free, including travel. Submit your CV + video pitch (max 1-minute) to firstname.lastname@example.org. There is no age restriction (18-35 years will be given preference). The deadline to apply is the Summer Solstice, 21 June 2019. The selections would be on a rolling basis, so apply now.
WHO’S IN CHARGE OF GLOBAL GOVERNANCE OF THE CLIMATE?
Is it the UN? Is it the Paris Accords or the IPCC? Is it the Security Council and its permanent members, China, USA, Russia, UK, and France? Is it a world parliament? Or, maybe we are doing great jobs nationally in many countries, but not internationally. The answer just might be that no one person or institution is responsible or accountable at the global level to ensure we do not reach the climate catastrophe point of no return.
